Calavianca is produced in Marsala in Sicily and is made with 100% Nero D'Avola, one of Sicily's most famous grapes, with a brilliant ruby red colour with violet highlights.
To the nose Calavianca is wide, pleaseant fruity with spicy hints of sour black and morello cherries, currants and vanilla. When tasting it is soft, balanced, with the correct level of tannins, an excellent level of acidity and a long final persistence.
This lovely Sicilian wine pairs perfectly with main courses of roasted or grilled white and red meat. It is also ideal with freshly sliced parma ham or salami and soft cheese. Calavianca should be served between 16 and 18° C.
